Sunsets

I was driving home from work yesterday and the sunset was so beautiful that I just had to pull over and take some pictures.  Most of the time you look in your rear view mirrors to check traffic before changing lanes but yesterday I couldn't help but to keep looking into by rear view mirrors.  Wouldn't you if this is what you saw?  For some reason Psalm 46:10 came to mind as I stood there admiring the colors that I knew the camera would not be able to replicate. 

It's rare that sunset evokes the same emotions I feel when standing next to the ocean or feel the power of a thunderstorm.  Sunsets are quite and kind of sad because they disappear so quickly.  I want them to linger just a few more minutes so the impression doesn't leave my eyes.  But it does go away as I stand on this quite country road.   This time I am not sad because I managed to capture the essence of it and can reutrn to it whenever I feel the need to revisit.   God is an awesome artist !

 For some reason this quote from Psalm 46:10 kept coming to mind while I was taking these pictures. I guess because I'm standing on the side of a quite country road and I felt the same peacefulness that I feel when standing by the ocean. The vastness and beauty are just overwhelming and you can fell the magnificence of God.
